About the Class
The class will be structured around the idea of learning to history as a skill, rather than a series of facts to be remembered. Students will be taught to "do" history rather than "learn about" history, with an emphasis on analyzing primary source documents. Students will develop critical thinking skills that go along with reading sources for content as well as evaluating the source's reliability and its author's intentions. Additionally, this class emphasizes the development of theses based on interpreting facts, and the importance of conveying this analysis clearly through writing.
U.S. History
Our class will study the development of American society, the evolution of its culture, major political accomplishments, and America's historical place in the world.
World History
Our class will examine how the modern world came to be, and what key historical events shaped global interactions.
